# 3D Pinball Space Cadet Talking 3.0.32 - Changelog Creatiel fork based on SpaceCadetPinball Release 2.1.0 by Andrey Muzychenko. ## Version 3.0.32 - Fixed a Windows audio bug inherited from SpaceCadetPinball 2.1.0: lowering MIDI music volume also lowered the entire application volume in the Windows mixer, making voice announcements and sound effects too quiet. - Windows: replaced native MIDI playback with bundled TiMidity software synthesis. - Disabled the native MIDI backend to prevent music volume from changing the Windows application mixer volume. - Music volume is independent of voices and sound effects; no forced change to the user's Windows mixer setting. - Bundled Freepats instruments and their license notices in Windows packages. - Linux audio playback remains unchanged. ## Version 3.0.31 - Removed the temporary automatic multiball test and its score-disqualification injection. - Retained the validated voice-channel protection and effect-channel allocation fixes. - Replaced the high-score window's salmon background with #6BADF7. ## Version 3.0.30 - Selected a free effect channel explicitly before playback. - Recycled the oldest effect first when all effect channels are occupied, avoiding No free channels available errors. - Retained voice protection and the temporary multiball test. ## Version 3.0.29 - Added four reserved channels for Talking voice announcements. - Effect-channel recycling no longer interrupts voices. - Busy voice channels are never replaced by a new voice. - Retained the temporary 20-second multiball test for audio validation. ## Version 3.0.28 (temporary multiball test) - Triggered normal multiball once per new game after 20 seconds of active-ball simulation time. - Used the existing release timers, voice callback and music without audio changes. - Marked injected multiball games as CheatsUsed to exclude them from normal high scores. - Skipped injection when natural multiball is already running. ## Version 3.0.27 - Skipped newline glyphs in bitmap drawing, removing question marks from multiline messages. - Blinked the ball-number display for 1.5 seconds on each positive ChangeBallCount call. - Restored steady visibility automatically after blinking; ball values are unchanged. ## Version 3.0.26 - Rendered the startup welcome with the native bitmap message font. - Removed the Full Tilt! tab and its unused button-style overrides from About. ## Version 3.0.25 - Fixed score and player-number tinting with the custom table's null-background renderer. - Applied the startup welcome after initial NewGame so it is not overwritten. ## Version 3.0.24 - Replaced idle credits with four English pages of exactly three lines. - Credits and startup welcome use the current build version automatically. - Displayed Welcome only at application startup; gameplay deployment messages remain translated. - Changed player-number and score digits to green. - Preserved explicit line breaks in welcome and credits, fitting text to the display. ## Version 3.0.23 ### Gameplay - Added three Tilt modes: Tilt, Tilt soft and No Tilt. - Tilt soft doubles the warning and Tilt thresholds. - No Tilt prevents Tilt while retaining the red "Shock !" warning. - Added configurable Center Post durations: 30, 60, 90, 120 or 180 seconds. - Added a visible Center Post countdown below the MAXIS logo. - Cheats Code remains visible but locked until the lifetime high score reaches 18,000,000. - Easy Mode remains locked until the lifetime high score reaches 30,000,000. - Unlocking is based on the persistent lifetime high score. - Removed the 3DPB data preference; CADET.DAT is always prioritised. - PINBALL.DAT and DEMO.DAT remain available as compatibility fallbacks. ### Talking audio - Added a welcome voice announcement. - Added custom voice announcements for Extra Ball, First Service, Center Post and Multiball. - Added a custom Game Over voice sequence. - SOUND9 combines its original opening effect with the "Big Bonus!" announcement. - Added applause when a score qualifies for the High Scores table. - Added a drum roll followed by applause when a new rank-1 record is achieved. - Increased the applause and drum-roll levels with peak limiting. - Reduced original table effects by 9 dB to improve voice clarity. - Voice notifications, SOUND9 and Game Over remain exempt from this attenuation. - Original effects that conflicted with Talking announcements were removed or adjusted. ### Right panel and interface - Replaced the original right-side artwork with a customised Space Shuttle panel. - Added a pixel-perfect 325x640 native panel layer. - Added a separate high-resolution shuttle and star-field layer for fullscreen mode. - Preserved dynamic score, ball-number and message displays above the artwork. - Added four independently twinkling stars. - Added an animated warm-white halo to the SPACE CADET title. - Added six flashing pale-yellow and red shuttle exhaust rays. - Added a green Extra Ball reserve indicator inside the title arc. - Added a pink ball-number display and adjusted its vertical alignment. - Added yellow text to the upper message display. - Added a coloured High Scores window with eight stored entries. - Centred and proportionally scaled the High Scores window on the right panel. - Added the complete build identifier and a Changelog tab to the About dialog. - Added a Web Projet entry to the Game menu linking to the official project page. - The game window is minimised when Web Projet is selected so the browser opens in the foreground, including from fullscreen mode. - Removed the 3DPB data submenu from Options. - Removed the ImGui Demo and Sprite Viewer developer tools from Help. - Preserved the familiar expression "Cheats Code" in Latin-alphabet menu languages. ### Text and languages - Added French accented characters to the original bitmap font. - Added bitmap glyph support for Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German. - Added Unicode bitmap glyphs for Simplified Chinese, Russian and Japanese. - Added a compact GNU Unifont JP subset containing only required glyphs. - Added an automatic Unicode font fallback for long messages that do not fit at native bitmap size. - Long fallback messages use larger, bold, centred text in the display colour. - Added complete menus and custom-option translations for all 24 supported languages. - Shortened overly detailed custom menu labels, including the Center Post duration setting. - Added right-to-left menu presentation for Arabic and Hebrew. - Preserved the pinball term "Tilt" in every language. ### Controls and system - Added support for generic SDL joystick devices. - Generic joystick buttons can be assigned in Game Controls. - Existing SDL Game Controller support is preserved. - Prevented multiple simultaneous game instances. - Added optional Enhanced Scaling (3.0), disabled by default. - Restored the original dark background around the table. ### Fixed - Fixed progressive table displacement after repeated nudges. - Fixed nudge rendering with Enhanced Scaling. - Removed obsolete slow two-pass scaling implementations. - Fixed French accents being replaced by unaccented bitmap glyphs. - Fixed colour and proportions of generated bitmap accents. - Fixed stale fragments at the right edge of long messages. - Fixed centring and wrapping of Unicode fallback messages. - Preserved existing five-entry score tables during migration to eight entries. - Fixed score-window placement in windowed and fullscreen modes. - Fixed alignment of the Center Post countdown and shuttle exhaust origin. ### Included custom audio - WELCOME.WAV - EXTRABALL.WAV - FIRSTSERVICE.WAV -
